My husband and I travel to Gettysburg several times a year, we only live about 2 hours from there, so it's not to hard for us to make the trip. Since we have been traveling there for many years now, we are familiar with some of the campgrounds in the area. We like to camp, so we have never stayed in a hotel.
The campground that we enjoy the most is Drummerboy Camping Resort. This is a nice sized campground with spacious sites and a friendly atmosphere. They offer many activities for all ages.
we have also taken a ghost walk at night, this is a nice experience, if you love ghost stories and would like to learn more about the history of the area this is a good way to do so.
Sometimes we are just looking for a quiet get away and we find it here. We like to walk the streets of Gettysburg and go into all the interesting little shops that we find, and we always stop that the Cupcake Shop and grab a delicious cupcake.
For those who are not interested in the battlefield you can find outlet shops to entertain you and a huge movie theater. Here you will find many things to see and do, you can be as busy as you would like or as relaxed as you like.
