Dockside Nature Cruise while we were there, and we had a wonderful time. The
pontoon boats are comfortable and easy to move around on, so you can get that
perfect picture. They can accommodate up to 6 people per boat, and with two
boats they can take a party of 12 people at one time.
On this trip you will get to see the famous ponies up close and
personal. If you are taking the cruise at the right time of year you may also
see dolphins. This trip will also allow you to see some of the wonderful bird
population on the islands and get a great view of the Assateague Lighthouse. The
tour lasts about two hours; they recommend that you bring a light jacket and
They also provide a sunset tour, this one follows a similar route as
the nature cruise, however; this one ends with a front row view of the sunset
over the Chincoteague Bay.
The people who own this business are the Daisey’s, they were among the
first settlers of Chincoteague., their love for the island is evident, and their
way of life has been passed down through generations of Daisey's.
Overall this was a wonderful trip; we were able to get a closer look at
the ponies, and the many different birds that inhabit the area. We didn’t get to
see any dolphins, but I believe it was because we took this tour in April.
